Bragging on my wife for a bit.

My wife leads Northwest Austin Younglives. Younglives is a mision to teen moms. Younglives chases after teen moms and cares for them in their world where they are at loving them well and helping them in their hurt and fear. They do this through mentor moms, club, and camp.

Two years ago Cat and her team started Younglives in NW Austin with about 20 teen moms. Today they gather teen moms in Round Rock and Georgetown influencing around 120 girls by being on campus and in their lives along with fun filled clubs at each area. 

Tonight her and one of her teen moms, Sierra, are in Colorado Springs sharing their story with the National Younglife board. I’m really proud of her. This board includes the governor of Tennessee, the owner of the Phoenix Suns, and influential people who care about the lives of young people. 

Cat does not like it when I brag on her but I love this story and I don;t mind being in trouble for a bit. I was telling her the other day, “If I would have said to you three years ago that you would have one of the largest younglife areas in Texas and that you would be standing before the National Board of Directors for Younglife, you would have told me I was crazy.” But there she is having a week to remember with one of her girls. 

I love seeing God use her. She is amazing. I took this pic last night at her Round Rock club. Here she is in front of teen moms with beautiful potential telling them how loved they are and about all that God has planned for them.
